The Wilds

The Wilds is a unique game preserve on 10,000 acres of reclaimed mine land. They keep and breed endangered species for exchange with zoos and for reintroduction to the wild.

Not a house as far as the eye can see!

Przewalsky's Horses. They are native to Mongolia and are a primitive type of horse now extinct in the wild. Our guide tells us they are extremely nasty in temperment. The hair on the ground is Bactrian Camel hair.

This is a breeding group with one stallion. Notice how close together they graze, even though it was a very hot day. This is typical of horses native to cold climates.
