1. JAMES MORRIS BROOMALL (THOMAS 5, NATHAN 4, DANIEL 3, JOHN 2, JOHN 1) was born September 03, 1829. He married REBECCA C. FOLEY. A member of a steel making family, JAMES migrated to the steel making area of Ohio, then went to Grant's lick, Kentucky, where he shows up in 1870 as a rolling mill hand, with his family. Since he daughter Rebecca was born in ohio, and a year later his son James was born in Kentucky, the family must have moved about 1865-66. He later settled in Birmingham Alabama. In 1895 the Birmingham Directory lists Broomall & Merrell (J.M. Broomall, Lee Merrell), coal dealers. He resided in the suburb of Elyton. He died Before 1901 as the Birmingham Directory of 1900 lists Rebecca as widow.

i. SARAH BROOMALL, b. abt. 1854 in KY.
ii. THOMAS BROOMALL, b. April 30, 1857 in KY; d. 1928; m. FLORENCE WILDSMITH. THOMAS was employed by the Birmingham Roller Mills as a roller. He resided in Elyton AL. THOMAS was buried March 02, 1928, in the Oak Hill Cem. Birmingham, Jefferson Co AL and FLORENCE was buried there March 20, 1934. It is not know at the present time if they had issue.
iii. ROSE (ROSA) BROOMALL,b. abt. 1860 in KY; m._____ MURPHY. Residence: Cincinnati OH, accd to family tradition.
2. iv. JAMES MORRIS BROOMALL, JR., (aka Morris, Maury, Murray, Morey).. b. abt 1863 in KY.
3. v. REBECCA (BAY) BROOMALL, b. 1864 in OH; d. 1948, Midland MI.
vi. CALEB B. W. BROOMALL, b. abt. 1867, (aka C. W. or WICK); m. ANNIE _____, about. 1900. He was a catcher at the Birmingham Rolling Mill, and after his marriage lived in Elyton.
vii. CAROLINE B. BROOMALL, b. 1870; m. _____ MATHER.They settled in California according to family tradition
viii. GRACE BROOMALL, m. ALBERT E. FUQUA, before. 1902. ALBERT was a dairy farmer. They lived in Elyton AL.

Possible Child of JAMES M. BROOMALL:
ix. The Birmingham Directory of 1889 lists a MICHAEL BROOMALL Sr. & Jr. MICHAEL Sr. could possibly be another son of JAMES M BROOMALL Sr.

 

2. JAMES MORRIS BROOMALL, JR. (JAMES M.6, THOMAS 5, NATHAN 4, DANIEL 3, JOHN 2, JOHN 1) born about 1863 in Kentucky. (aka MORRIS, MAURY, MURRAY, MOREY- believe he went by his middle name MORRIS.). He married FRANCES A. REBECCA (FRANKIE) MERRELL. He worked at the Birminghan Rolling Mill Co. and resided in Elyton AL.

i. ROSE LEE BROOMALL.

3. REBECCA (BAY) BROOMALL (JAMES M. 6; THOMAS 5; NATHAN 4; DANIEL 3; JOHN 2; JOHN 1) was born in 1864 in Portsmouth OH. She married JAMES TAYLOR TIBBATTS, son of LEO TIBBATTS and ESTELLE FLORINDE BLANCAGNIEL on November 10, 1886 in Newport, Campbell Co. KY. JAMES was born November 21, 1862 in Grant's Lick, Campbell Co. KY and died in 1939 in Midland MI. REBECCA died in 1948 in Midland MI.

i. THOMAS TAYLOR TIBBATTS was born September 2, 1887 in Campbell Co. KY. He married MAYME FREISE. He died on August 27, 1962 in Brimingham, Jefferson Co. AL, and was buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham AL. No issue.
ii. JOSEPHINE FRANCES WASHINGTON TIBBATTS was born. February 23, 1889 near Covington, Grant Co. KY. Married ROSCOE CONKLIN FOLLICK on August 31, 1911 in Cincinnati OH. She died June 7, 1959 in Hamilton, Butler Co. OH.
iii. ROSE GLADYS TIBBATTS was born June 4, 1891. She married EVERETT PIERSON in Hamilton, OH. She died December 9, 1981 in Loveland OH, and was buried December 12, 1981 in New London Cemetery, Shandon, OH.
iv. FRANCES MAY TIBBATTS was born April 16, 1893. She married CLIFFORD HAMEL.
v. REBECCA TIBBATTS was born June 23, 1895. She married JOHN YOUNG.
vi. ESTELLE IDA TIBBATTS was born November 18, 1897. She married GEORGE YAUGER.
vii. LOUISE MARIE TIBBATTS was born April 22, 1900. She married ELIJAH (BOB) GOLDSMITH OSTRANDER on December 25, 1921.
viii. KETURAH ANNA TIBBATTS was born on November 21, 1902. She married EVERETT (SLIM) SAMPSON.
ix. JOHN WILLIAM TIBBATTS was born September 26, 1904. He married EDITH ELOISE HUBBARD on August 21, 1929.
x. CAROLINE ELNORA (GIRLY) TIBBATTS was born on November 9, 1906 in Harrison IN. She married ROY WALLACE DOWNS on May 30, 1924 in MI.
