2. THOMAS BROOMHALL (J0HN 1) was born after 1752. Thomas is probably the Thomas Broomall on the Muster Rolls in 1781 in the Pennsbury Co. Chester County Militia. Thomas enlisted in Robert W. Kent's Company of the 14th regiment of Infantry, U.S. Army on June 30, 1812. He was killed in action on November 11, 1812, leaving his wife (name unknown) and six children. As a result of the father's service, warrants for 160 acres each in Adams Co. Illinois were awarded sons John and Thomas. (Recorded January 23, 1819.)

vi. THOMAS BROOMHALL , b abt. 1809. It was thought that the THOMAS BROOMHALL who married LYDIA NEWBROUGH was this THOMAS, but discrepancies in the birth dates make it impossible.

6. MARY BROOMHALL (THOMAS 2, JOHN 1) was born about 1783 in PA. Between 1812 and 1815 she married PARKER DERHAM, (DURHAM) who was born 1776 in Delaware. They lived in Honeybrook Twp, Chester Co PA. MARY must have died between 1850 - 1860. PARKER died before 18 July 1864, the date his will was proved. They had 6 or 7 children according to the census records, but we have the names of only four.The first child was b. abt 1815. Another child, RUTHANNA DERHAM is on the 1850 census, 10 years of age. MARY is too old to be her mother, so she must be a relative. Note: new information has come to us from Joseph A. Romeo about this family- please see his website for more information.

7. JEHU BROOMHALL (THOMAS 2, JOHN 1) was born 1791 in PA.

He married (1) LYDIA BAKER I, daughter of WILLIAM BAKER and SARAH MINSHALL. LYDIA I died of consumption November 1, 1818, and was buried November 3 at Middletown Friends Burial Ground. JEHU married (2) LYDIA BAKER II March 23, 1820, daughter of EDWARD BAKER and JANE GREEN . She was the first cousin of the first Lydia Baker. She was born May 25, 1798 and died October 31, 1837 in Edgmont Twp, Delaware County PA. She was buried at Middletown on November 2, 1837. Jehu was a teacher at School #3, Middletown Twp., Delaware Co. In 1825 Jehu was elected Sheriff of Delaware Co., which had been formed from Chester Co. in 1789. JEHU died March 02, 1835 in was buried March 4 at Middletown Friends Burial Gound, Delaware Co. PA

JEHU BROOMHALL , b. December 19, 1826, Edgmont Twp. Del Co. PA; d. May 16, 1881, Edgmont Twp. Del Co. PA. He was a farmer, drover and cattle dealer. He married June 2, 1880, IDA L. PATTERSON born October 22, 1857, daughter of JOHN PATTERSON and LYDIA BALDWIN. They had no issue. Jehu is buried at Cumberland Cemetery, Middletown Twp., Delaware Co., PA.

CHARLES D. MANLEY BROOMHALL , b. December 06, 1831. Served in as First Sergeant of Co. D in the124th Regiment PA Volunteers in the Civil War. He was a surveyor, school teacher, and then an attorney in Media, Delaware Co. PA. He was Delaware Co. District Attorney one term; School Director, and a director of the Charter National Bank. He died a bachelor October 24, 1902. He is buried in Cumberland Cemetery, Middletown Twp., Delaware Co. PA.

8. JOSHUA BROOMHALL (THOMAS 2, JOHN 1) lived in East Bradford Twp. In 1814 he was married by John Graves, Esq., Justice of the Peace in West Chester, to ANN CHALFANT of East Bradford. There was a Joshua Broomhall arrested for several crimes in Chester County: in August 1813 for Burglary; in January 1821 for Fornication and Bastardy, and in February 1824 for Riot and Assault. We don't know if this is the same Joshua, but we know of no other one of this name.

13. MINSHALL B. BROOMHALL (JEHU 3, THOMAS 2, JOHN 1) was born about 1817. He married ANN D. CURTIS August 18, 1846 in Philadelphia PA, daughter of JOHN H. CURTIS . Minshall was a druggist in West Chester PA. He died May 04, 1860. Ann died August 19, 1894 in Philadelphia PA.

14. LYDIA ELIZABETH BROOMHALL (JEHU 3, THOMAS 2, JOHN 1) was born 1829. She married on August 07, 1852 in West Chester PA WAYNE M. BISHOP, born January 20, 1830 Edgmont Twp., Delaware Co., PA. Lydia died June 30, 1892. Wayne died April 27, 1915 at Collingswood NJ. They are both buried at Cumberland Cemetery, Middletown Twp., Delaware Co., PA.

i. ANNA PHEBE BISHOP , b. July 1854, Willistown Twp, Chester Co. PA. She married December 24, 1874 PENNOCK EDWARDS SHARPLESS b. May 15, 1852 Edgmont Twp., Delaware Co. PA. She died December 28, 1938, Ward, Delaware Co. PA. He died July 22, 1936, Concord Twp., Delaware Co. PA. They are both buried at Cumberland Cemetery. They had issue. 23. EDMUND NEVILLE BROOMHALL ( E. NEVILLE) (MINSHALL B., JEHU 3, THOMAS 2, JOHN 1) was born about 1853, and died in Philadelphia March 30, 1890, aged 37. He married HELEN CURTIS, who was born about 1857 and died after 1894. Neville is listed in the 1870 census as apprentice to machinist. He manufactured printing inks in Philadelphia.
