for India on Friday 26 May 1842. He returned to England, landing at Dover
on Saturday, 30 May 1857 after an absence of 15 years, and settled in London.
He married 17 April 1847 in Madras India, ADELIZA SHAW, born at Colchester, 24 November 1817, second daughter
of Captain EDWARD BARRON SHAW of Halstead, Essex, England. They had seven children,
five sons and two daughters. Author of History of

a magistrare for the county of Surrey, and on the 16th of September, 1875,

Founders' Company.
The following was provided by Peter Hope of New Zealand: In Broomhall Surname
History (as prepared by A. J. Broomhall of East Sussex), he writes that
one "James Broomhall 1729" was married to a Pitchford. In my Mothers
Family tree we have a connection to the Pitchford Line via "James Broomhall
1796" of Shrewsbury. Our family tree is a result of the Honywood Estate.
The following is an extract from "Memorials of the Family of Pitchford, of the County of Salop" by J. Broomhall, Esq., J, P. (Compiled in 1881)
"Fifty years ago (1831) a Chancery suit was commenced by my grandfather, and other members of his family, to recover a portion of the 20,000 pound bequeathed by the late Frazer Honywood, Banker, of Lombard Street, in a codicil to his last Will, proved 28th February, 1764. I believe the suit was not carried on for want of funds with which to prosecute it; but of this I am not certain. One provision of the Will is that those members of the family who possess 2,000 pound shall not share in the bequest. The result of this limitation has been to prevent those who could carry on the suit from so doing, and those who are not possessed of 2,000 pound are unable to prosecute it. An application has recently been made to me to revive the suit; but as I am not entitled, on account of the limitation, to share in the bequest, I have declined to entertain it. By 1831 Frazer Honywood's bequest had accumulated to 68,000 pounds".
As a result of the above Will our family tree was done to try to prove
a link between our family line and Honeywood. This goes back through various
lines to John Pycheford (I) of Lee Brockhurst, County Salop born about 1500.
We then come forward through the Pitchford line to 1704 where one Martha
Pitchford married George Birch through to 1793 when Elizabeth Birch married
George Hold and one of their children, Ann married James Broomhall in 1820.
