The David Ranch is owned by Melvin David. It is fairly remote- 6
miles to the mailbox! The nearest town is Daniel WY, with a population of
100, so for shopping, you have to go to Pinedale, about 35 miles away. There
is no noise except the wind, the Sandhill cranes, and an occasional moo;
no congestion (except cows on the road) but also no electricity, so Melvin
has to generate his own. This will be our home for a week while Melvin tries
to teach us to be cowboys.

Here is Melvin leading some of us dudes out to round up some cattle. That is Reed on the left, then Melvin, (a couple of riders are obscured behind Melvin) Annemieke from the Netherlands, Richard, form Germany, and Susan, from Utah.
Here are some of Melvin's fat, contented steers. He fattens them up
to about 950 pounds; then they go to a feedlot, where they are fed grain
until they weight about 1200; after which they become prime beef.
